Director of Client Services

Description:

Meals on Wheels Waco is accepting applications for the full-time position of Director of Client Services.
We are looking for a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) with prior experience including supervisory and
management skills to serve in a program director role.

  • This position requires flexibility, creative problem solving, and daily collaboration with other Meals on
    Wheels Waco staff.
  • The Director of Client Services is responsible for supervising assessment staff and ensuring Meals on
    Wheels Waco follows all federal and state regulations.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develops, coordinates and supervises Meals on Wheels Waco programs and activities.
  2. Oversees the operations of the client assessment system, including supervision of assessment staff.
  3. Reviews accuracy of client assessment records to minimize errors prior to submission to Data
    Management.
  4. Evaluates and develops measureable goals for home-delivered and congregate meal program with the
    Program Committee of the Board of Directors and monitors progress towards completion of goals and
    objectives.
  5. Knows the codes and regulations of the Texas Administrative Code related to program areas and monitors
    the program for effective implementation and compliance to funding guidelines.
  6. Responsible for providing oversight and training on changes of practices, procedures and policies to
    ensure compliance by the assessment staff.
  7. Develops effective client satisfaction/evaluation tools.
  8. Ensures, in collaboration with assessment staff, that program measurements are being implemented.
  9. Provides supervision for MSW, BSW, and other interns as directed and appropriate.
  10. Engages in developing service delivery system that is responsive, sensitive to the needs of clients and
    volunteers, and uses the resources of the agency in an effective manner.
  11. Cultivates communication channels with churches, civic organizations, city/community leaders and social
    service agencies to advocate for the older adult population.
  12. Ensures programs operate within assigned budgets, funding guidelines, and contractual requirements.
  13. Supervises assessment staff in developing departmental policies and procedures.
  14. Reviews and processes staff time, mileage and other reports to ensure accuracy.
  15. Represents the agency at public engagements, conferences, fundraisers, and meetings with collaborative
    community agencies as assigned.
  16. Follows the Social Work Standards of Ethics when interacting with clients, staff, vendors, volunteers,
    community partners, and referral resources.
  17. Responsible for other duties as assigned for the successful operation of Meals on Wheels Waco.

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Social Work, required
  • LMSW or LCSW Degree preferred.
  • Knowledge in planning, developing and directing programs.
  • Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with employees, volunteers,
    community service organizations and the public.

Custodian

Description:

This is a part-time position for someone to routinely clean and care for the inside of our buildings and the grounds.

The Custodian reports to the Executive Director.

Responsibilities:

  1. Sweeps & mops, washes front doors; cleans bathroom washbasins and replenishes supplies in restrooms; removes rubbish, waste paper, and recycling.
  2. Picks up trash from outside of building and in flowerbeds and sweeps snow from front entrance area and puts out rock salt.
  3. Cleans meal preparation kitchen including microwave oven, meal bags, counter tops, tables, runs dishwasher and other needed tasks.
  4. Performs related work as required. 
    • Helps cover absence of Meal Preparation staff.
    • Work may include minor maintenance tasks and related special assignments as are necessary in accordance with the functions and requirements of the building.  
    • Specific instructions will be given for unusual jobs. Routine assignments are checked by spot inspections for thoroughness and completeness or as the result of complaints.
  5. Other appropriate duties as may be assigned 

Qualifications:

  • Completion of high school.  
  • Some knowledge of modern cleaning methods and of cleaning materials, such as soaps, powders, polishes and waxes.  
  • Able to understand and follow specific oral instructions.  
  • Perform routine operations involved in simple custodial duties without close supervision.  
  • Requires the ability to be on ones feet all day and carry 20 pounds or more.

Client & Volunteer Support Specialist

Description:

Meals on Wheels Waco is accepting applications for a Part Time Support Client & Volunteer Specialist.

This position reports to the Director of Client Services.  The Support Specialist interacts with homebound meal recipients, volunteers, meal site coordinators, and other staff members to assist with meal deliveries.  

The ideal candidate is flexible, interacts well with all types of personalities and enjoys working with seniors.

We are looking for someone with experience in client data/documentation systems, working with computers and interacting with a team.

Key job functions include:

  • Volunteer coordination.
  • Calling clients and managing their requests.
  • Organizing and assisting with all meal deliveries. 
  • Mapping clients onto meal routes.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with Microsoft Office, Google Maps, and client database programs.
  • Associates degree preferred.
  • Previous experience working with seniors.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (both verbally and written).
  • Ability to speak Spanish is helpful, but not required.
  • Active Driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable vehicle you can use for work purposes.
